Hey,

Does anyone have any insider information on the residency program at VCU? I have some personal ties to Richmond so I'm thinking of applying there. I'm particularly concerned because in their pgy-3 class, 8 out of 12 residents were from their medical school however in their pgy-2 and pgy-1 classes combined, only ONE resident is from their medical school. Anyone know what happened? Did something go wrong with the program?

Thanks!

Whatever it was about 4 out of 11 matched into their school's program this year, most likely one class didn't have a lot of people going into pediatric one year or many who simply choose different places to go based on family reasons, I hear the program is excellent though, match list posted below:

Thanks for the reply!!! Are there any VCU residents or students that want to comment on the program in general? I would really appreciate it!

I'm a third year student at VCU and I think the Peds program is great - I had a good experience on my rotation - residents were friendly and there was a good amount of teaching. Lots of pathology in Richmond.
