I applied to EVMS and UVa and haven't heard anything from either. Of course, I just put my app in Friday night and EVMS just downloaded what I have available this am. I will try to post on the other interviews offered thread when I do hear.

One person has EVMS listed as having an interview offered. I spoke with the PD from UVA at ACEP SA in N.O. at the residency fair. He said they have not sent anything out either way and wouldn't until after Dean's letters went out.

UVA is in Charlottesville. EVMS is in Norfolk - two different programs.

One other thing - no matter how nice/real/substantial they are in person, it seemed to me that every PD - bar none - became greasy and slimy when it came to the application/interview process. I saw bold-faced lies more than once. Another thing is, even if things are "cast in stone", on occasion, there is one or two applicants that are truly stellar, and they pull the trigger early. They just don't admit it.

Now, mind you, I haven't met every PD out there, so, perhaps, some of them aren't used-car or snake oil salesmen.

Being originally from VA, I think this is where I get to use the phrase "No **** Sherlock" 😉 Hence the reason for I used the qualifiers of EVMS and UVa for each statement.

As an aside, I also ran into BKN at ACEP. Definitely not greasy or slimy. More of a kind and cuddly type of guy. 😀 Very nice to talk to. Several other PDs I've met are pretty straight shooters as well.

And, although not a native, my 4 years in college (with my roommate from Galax, who had the reddest neck of ANYONE) taught me enough about Virginia (was my second choice to practice in). As I didn't know you were from VA, I see where you're coming from.
