viruses and derm yield???

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
viruses= high yield derm=pearly=basal cell. It was on my test.

Memorize the viruses table on page one seventy something of Clin Micro MRS. It should take about a couple of hrs and it's all you need to know. Well not all you need to know cause you still need to know how it relates to path. But the path questions will all be second order. For example a question might be about myocarditis and ask which of the following is causal:

DNA SS Naked, DNA SS Enve, DNA DS Naked, DNA DS Env, RNA + SS, RNA + DS, RNA - SS, RNA - DS.

So you have to know that it's Coxsackie and then you have to know what Coxsackie is. And there will literally be that many choices to choose from if not more. But these are EASY questions if you memorize that table on page 171.

For derm, I think the section in BRS Path's sufficient (And it's not very long to read). The fungi may also appear on the test (Tinea Nigra, Pityriasis Versicolor, dermatophytes, etc.)
