Hi,

I have tried to find an answer to my querie but I was not able to.

I am a foreign graduate from an Avma accredited organization (Royal Vet College in England), I have passed the Navle and I am certified in Florida and California.

I am applying for internships from organizations that accept foreign graduates but do not have a sponsoring program in place. My questions are:

- is the H1 visa the only visa available to foreign graduates? I was thinking about the J1 but it seems that there were some changes that now forbid J1 holders to have contact with patients, including veterinary ones. Any idea of how strict is that rule?

- is there a way I can file for the H1 myself, or at least reduce the burden to my potential employer, financially or bureaucratically?

- if there is a need to involve a lawyer, has anybody used or can reccomend an honest one?

Any advice would be most welcome!

Thanks,

jk
