Visually Impaired
Started by Adaggiote
Have you tried calling the AAMC to see what provisions they can make? That'll be a good place to start.
I am planning to take my MCATs soon......but I have a little problem.
Since the test is a computerized one, I have to quickly say that I am vis. imp. Are their any accommodations, such as bigger text...or something. Can someone please help me out.
I'm just wondering how you will be able to perform on surgery etc. with a visual impairment severe enough to require accommodations. Most schools require adequate vision to do assessments, assist in surgery, view pathology/histology slides.
take a free practice mcat
This is actually the best advice for you. Take a practice MCAT online (there are several options) and see how difficult it is for you. It it is passable with your vision then you are all set. Getting accomodations from AAMC is difficult at best and usually takes a long time to process. If you cannot read the screen you need to contact AAMC ASAP to discuss this with them.
