Just curious what peoples opinions of vital book are. Better or worse than the good old paper textbook? Thanks

Some people love it, some hate it. I like not having to carry all those books around (my fiancee is in Vet school and her surgery text alone must weigh almost as much as my car...) and think it's great as a reference. But it isn't the same if you want to go up to central park and read... no power outlets on the lawn. Overall though, I prefer it.

I don't really like it.
The main reason is that I have trouble focusing on stuff for a long time. If I'm trying to study by reading something on my computer, it's too easy for me to open up the internet and start browsing instead of studying or playing games on it.
What I end up doing is printing out a ton of stuff or using the printed manuals that the profs give us. Either way, it's not as good as having a textbook, because printing stuff out is a pain in the a$$ and coure manuals don't have an index, which annoys me.

I love the search feature. Nothing beats being able to search for the exact thing you want to find in 125 humongous text books. I think it's a good addition, but at times it would be nice to also have the hard copy. Books like Netter's Anatomy I purchased because I wanted to stare at those pictures and not at my laptop.

Its very easy to search for exactly what you need...annoying to read, highlight and take notes though

This is what I've done for my pathology class this fall. I bought the same book listed in the syllabus for $6.50 with shipping on Ebay so I can use the search feature on vitalbooks and study without distractions using the text book.
not a big fan - they cost more and give you less. you end up spending about 4000+ for books for undergrad dent. That is about 20% more than buying the texts @ the bookstore. They are easier to search but harder to read. I rarely use them.
