VMSAR 2009-2010 has shipped

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Are you applying this year, finally? Good luck!! 🙂 I don't know if you've been following my posts, but now I'm applying to Edinburgh too. But still hopeful for LSU and Western.....but getting less hopeful as this week passes.

What color is it this year??? That is the important part!

Don't say finally! It feels like just yesterday was my interview and rejection, and now I have to do it all over again. 😉

I have definitely been following your posts! I hope you get off of one of those waitlists - I think you will!!! And if not, Edinburgh sounds awesome if you get in...I was really close to applying to the AU schools but honestly, it's not realistic for me given my research ambitions.

edit: will confirm reports of blueness when it gets here. 😀

Thanks so much for the update! I pre-ordered it from amazon a couple months ago and they emailed me last week saying they were having trouble finding it and were outsourcing it. Hopefully they'll get the memo too and send it my way.

Just a suggestion...be sure to also check the PDFs about each school on AAVMC website http://www.aavmc.org/vmcas/college_requirement.htm (which are theoretically identical to each school's info sheet in VMSAR) because the year I applied there were a few small items that didn't make it into the VMSAR book that were corrected on those online PDFs. When I asked one of the schools about it, the Dean said that they had to make their submissions to VMSAR a certain amount of time in advance of VMSAR print date, and as a result a few details of their information had changed.

Not to stress anyone out, just a recommendation to check both sources for your schools of interest. 🙂

Good luck!!

Is there more info in the VMSAR compared to the PDF's on the VMCAS website? ie...what makes it worth buying (yes, i'm this poor)?

It's $19.79 on Amazon right now (includes shipping)

There are some additional statistics and whatnot across the schools. I honestly don't think you'll be missing out if you don't get it.

The VMSAR, as mentioned, has some statistical information in the publication that is not available online. Other than that, the publication exists solely for those that prefer to have the reference in hand.
