Vodka anyone?

Can't believe no one has mentioned this...

I can make a mean dirty vodka Martini with this stuff. VERY mean. :meanie:

Don't get the hype on Grey Goose, tried it side by side with Belvedere. But will give Reyka and Hanger One a shot.

Ok,
Today is a Vodka day for me.
I am having some Ketel One based on what I learned on this forum and that's why I decided to revive this thread.
Who else is into Vodka?

*Shudders as olfactory memories from college involving Wolfschmidt vodka and an ill-fated plate of jalapeno poppers that made a bidirectional esophageal tour come creeping to mind*

if you're mixing with vodka - it doesn't matter much what you're using.

i drink vodka and scotch.

i can definitely tell when it's crap or even midlevel.

also, russians don't sip vodka. they shoot it. 50-100grams at a time. real russians also don't care if it's cold.

i drink cold vodka on the rocks. sometimes gimlets, sometimes a squeeze of lime. never mix.
my personal preference
1. goose is ok, nothing special
2. ketel is good, some nice vanilla tones
3. chopin is very tasty, very complex
4. level is probably the smoothest one i've tried
5. jewel of russia is the gold standard

i disagree on the ciroc. as far as i'm concerned it's an exceptionally refined grappa.
belvedere has an unpleasant aftertaste.

You make a valid point on the ciroc, but I still enjoy it. Funny you aren't the first person I've heard make that comment...must be a common thought on may favorite.

I like Vox alot. Also, Pushkin is good, but I'm not sure it is sold in the U.S.

However, the best, most dangerous vodka I have found is Firefly Sweet Tea vodka. It is distilled near Charleston, SC with tea from a local tea plantation. Cut this with lemonade and you will have the perfect summertime cocktail. It will tear you up before you know what hits you.
