Should I volunteer at the Red cross as a DAT? (I dont think there are any special requirements, just that you need to take some classes/training to get certified that the red cross provides iirc)
Anyone ever experience anything with this? I think it would be a great opportunity to serve the community and get some nice life experiences with other people. I do think it might take up too much time and I'd be better off just sticking to clinical volunteering this semester and probably set up shadowing/EMT-B training courses for the summer to try and get some better experiences.
I know Red cross is not going to count as clinical but I am already going to do some clinical volunteering this semester and to put it alongside red cross volunteering, as well as my club I have on campus with school -- not sure I would be up to par on grades. From what I see, as DAT you have to be ready to go to a location at a certain day or time of day and I'm not sure I can sacrifice that if I don't know how long it will even be or what time it will be.. Not even mentioning if I might have a test etc.
