Hi guys,

Do residencies really want to know about my clinic/hospital volunteering in college before medical school?

Also, I'm volunteering for 3 days in medical tent set-up and in the main medical tent itself at a marathon during the application season. Worth listing?

Thanks!

Ask yourself: "Am I padding my CV by including this?"

There is no rule that you have to list all your volunteer activities (unlike prior work experiences, or prior education, where it might be considered application fraud not to be complete). So list those that are interesting, that you spent a significant amount of time on, or that mean a lot to you. Several hours in a medical tent at a marathon doesn't seem to fit any of those, so I'd leave it off. And you don't have to list college volunteering stuff.

If you overdo it, the good stuff gets buried in the noise.
