So just to confirm, I can log future hours and this is acceptable? If medical schools contact the volunteer organization, and I haven't reached that number of hours, won't this be looked at as putting down false information?

This is the best way to go about it.I was thinking about including future hours in total hours but distinguish which ones have been completed already in the description box.

It is a way to inform them that you plan to continue a certain activity. I will be working and volunteering so they should know that you will be continuing these things after you apply. So medical school calls volunteer organization, "Can you confirm x hours for applicant?" If you do not have x hours you report on your application, what are you going to tell admissions committees? That you promise that you'll eventually have them? A promise to achieve something and actually having proof of doing something are two completely different things.
Can additional members clarify this? I will be happy to report additional hours on my application that I don't have, but I don't see how a promise of a future estimate of hours is valuable to anybody.
I understand putting down a projected end date, but formulating a specific amount of hours for an activity over a 13 month period seems ridiculous.
But if that's what they want us to do, I'll be happy to do so!
I'll be doing #1. It seems to make the most sense to me personally
That's the right thing to do. Don't be over-zealous with your estimates. If you think 4-8 hours/per week, add the hours using 4. I also never put my end dates past May. Since traffick day is May 1, I didn't know when I may move after that, so I didn't want to assume I'd be volunteering still in July.Out of those options, I am also leaning towards option 1. But I am also thinking about including them in a very conservative total number of hours and stating "hours listed between June 2017-august 2017 are estimated based off a commitment of 4-8 hours per week" or something along those lines.
As long as we make it clear that we are not trying to inflate our numbers and are just estimating.
That's a good point, thank you! That's the right thing to do. Don't be over-zealous with your estimates. If you think 4-8 hours/per week, add the hours using 4. I also never put my end dates past May.
