How far back in years would you say that it is worth writing down volunteer work? Say, since highschool, or are dental schools strictly interested in volunteer work done in undergrad?

I listed 72 hours I volunteered at a hospital during my senior year of high school. So I would if I were you. This just shows your interest in medicine started early.

You should list High school volunteering as well.

High school volunteering...isn't that too far back? I had many many hours back then. Do you think they even care about that stuff?

you really can't put too much volunteer work on your application. If you volunteered alot in high school, then put it on your app. Volunteering is something that a lot of schools look very favorably on. I put down everything that I have done.

I personally did not list any of my high school activities or volunteer work on my application. I mean, you have to include the dates of when you participated, so it's not like D-schools are really interested in what I did back in 1997, when I was a high school freshman at the ripe age of 15. However, if you volunteered at a certain place and continued to volunteer at the same place throughout college, include that. Or, if the volunteer work is related to dentistry, I would include it.

Hope this helps.
