Hi again,

I am trying to get more volunteer experience to show that I have the desire to give back to the community. However, how will dental schools know I actually participated in community volunteer activities? I never get to meet with the volunteer coordinator but I do register my name online as a volunteer. Will the admissions committee conduct a background check or will they simply ask about my experiences?

It's on the honor system. As long as you do it, you should be able sleep at night knowing you didn't lie to get into school.

Great question! I always wondered the same thing. I volunteer at a free dental clinic and they write the hours, I also did tutor at a middle school but never got a letter or anything so I was always confused what to do as well.
