Would love to chat either in forum or via PM about the current EM work climate in northern VT/NH, OR (Bend), and WA (Bellingham). I've lived in these areas and I'm looking at relocating for the long term (SO, likely starting a family, etc.). I grew up in New England and lived in Bend as well as on the coast in WA. SO with similar experiences. Love to learn more. Thanks in advance!

Bend is bad. Have several docs that commute 3-4 hours to not work there. Sucks cause I would love to live next to Bachelor but I can only do about a 30 min commute.

Somehow that's not too surprising. What are the common frustrations with Bend? Pay? Group politics? Dysfunctional hospital? I'd love to know more!

I can't speak to EM in particular, but I have several friends who work for/at BMC and, while they love their actual jobs (and the location), despise the hospital and management.

Bellingham has only one group at PeaceHealth. Not sure if they're contracted or employed.
