Last year I tried to attend Columbia Post bacc and had to withdraw after a few weeks for family reasons (it was before my midterms but after the late drop deadline so I have a W). Anyway, I have the opportunity to restart this year or just go attend another one (in california) where I can get a fresh start. My question is whether columbia is worth the name recognition even with a W or should I just start fresh and not mention ever attending?

Thanks

I don't have an answer for where you should do your prerequisites, but if you decide not to go back to Columbia, you cannot just "not mention ever attending" Columbia. AMCAS requires you to:

List every post-secondary institution where you were enrolled for at least one course, even if credits have been transferred, no credits were earned, or you withdrew.

AMCAS also requires you to "certify that the information in this application and associated materials is current, complete, and accurate to the best of my knowledge" and this "certification ... serves the same purpose as a legal signature, and is binding." (http://www.aamc.org/students/amcas/faq/completing.htm)
