I believe it varies by state, but I actually got intern pay once I got my acceptance letter. You need to go on your state Board of Pharmacy's website and see how they define a pharmacy intern/what you need to do (some states require you to have an intern license). Also, I would concur with the above rates (although that could vary as well by state/location).

South Florida rates:

P1: 12.50
P2: 13.50
P3: 14.50
P4: 15.50

TY all for the rates. My state requires you first have to attend school to get an intern license, I wonder if WAGS is the same...I will ask my DM, I hope corporate policy is as soon as you get your acceptance letter.

Doesn't matter what state you're in, any community pharmacy (pharmacy in general) will require that the state has processed you're Intern application before they make you an "Intern". Typically, you'll have you're Intern license complete by the end of you first semester of pharmacy school. Then, it's just a a matter of giving you're DM/Supervisor a copy of you're license and they will change you're pay code and position.

Actually it's not really that easy anymore. Interns need to be accepted into the intern program at my chain. Having an intern license does not equal getting the intern rate and being coded as an intern. We have a few interns that I believe the DM has no intention of hiring that are working as techs and not coded as interns because they have not interviewed with the DM upon receiving their intern license. They stay with the company to get retail experience but they will not be interns for the company.

Oh yea, definitely need to be accepted into the program at Walgreens...sorry I glossed over that, I was thinking of that as a given. But yea, it's definitely become much harder to get an Intern position within Wags, they are pretty selective and also upon graduation they are selective whom they keep as Pharmacists. It's tough out there right now..
