okay, so what the hell is a scribe?

is it an EMT / ER tech?

 u shoulda googled it 😀 ....a med school scribe is someone who takes notes in class and for a (small?) fee, distributes copies to fellow students..

A hospital scribe is someone who takes notes during a patient encounter or intervention. This frees up the doctors/nurses/techs to do their work while the scribe notes down the H&P, Vitals, interventions, results of the interventions, etc.

scribe (noun):
-a person whose entire miserable existence has been reduced to academic grunge and pain, yet remains complacent

(from UrbanDictionary.com)

so why is anyone proud to be a scribe? all they're doing is bitchwork haha

i've seen some MDapplicant profiles, and people say

*** CHIEF SCRIBE!***** as if they've won the nobel prize lol, ER tech's a higher position and they put scribe in such a way which i thought was something crazy lol.... in the end, you juss someone's B!tch haha

DONT FLAME!

While I agree that it's not something along the lines of winning a Nobel Prize, the Scribe is a different person in each situation/institution. For our ER Codes, for example, the Scribe has to be a nurse.
