Hello,

I just talked to my advisor and was told that if I wanted the Health Profession Committee to do a review on me then it will take until June 16 and it will take a week after that for AADSAS to receive it. That will probably be June 23rd. Should I just have the committee to just send out my letters off rec. now or wait for a review. There will be a 2 weeks delay if I wait? What do you guys think? Thanks for your help.

I decided against my University's committee and just had my professors electronically submit and submit by mail. That is your own choice. I really doubt it will hurt you if you decide to do it yourself. It didn't affect me but you gotta make that call. Committee letter is more of a convenience for students to keep their letters throughout undergrad and to send all at once but at times like this it can also be a hassle.

I talked to a guy on an admissions committee, and he said the committee letter is much preferred over individual letters of rec.

he went on to state that you never see a bad letter of rec. the adcoms dont know you, whos in the best position to judge you? youre school. My committee wont even meet till august but im waiting for it. I doubt a school isnt going to look at your package because youre missing LORs.

def. committee letter will include a cover letter and make it look more professional. I heard a rumor ( 😉 ) that if there is a bad apple among good ones or cookie cutters the Lor fairy will make em disappear.
