My Amcas application is already verified and I'm adding more schools to send my app to right now even though my MCAT score is coming out in the start of August. Since, there are some schools that screen applicants before sending secondaries, does that mean I should wait for my MCAT score to come out before sending my primary to those schools that screen? If I wait, I can narrow my schools a little better. Or should I just try to submit as quick as possible?

Is this your second time taking the MCAT? If you already have a low score and are expecting a higher one to make up for it, then wait. If this was your first time taking it then there is 0 reason to wait.

This is my first time taking the MCAT. Why isn't it better to just wait to submit my verified app if the med schools that screen need my mcat score before doing anything with my application anyway?

Some schools will send secondaries before receiving the MCAT score, some schools will wait until after. Either way you wont be screened out before any MCAT score is entered. So you could potentially have a few secondaries done and submitted before the MCAT score comes out, meaning that the second the MCAT score is out your application will be ready for review. If you wait to send the application, there is going to be a few days/weeks for the school to process your app and send it out, then you have to deal with trying to complete and submit a large number of applications all at once.

Basically the more you can get done/submitted before August, the better.

I thought that it only takes a day after you add the schools for them to receive your application from AMCAS? Instead of the days/weeks you mentioned?

Just because they receive it doesnt mean they will send it out immediately. Some schools take the time to enter all of your data into their system before sending out a secondary.
