I don't know how big wait-lists can get for programs, but I am wait-listed at a program that has a class size around 100 and my rank in this list is #27.

For anyone who has had experience with wait-lists, do they tend to make it this far down the list, or is a future acceptance more of a stretch?

I know it will vary program to program, but having some sort of idea will help with decision making.

Thank you!

depends on what school. If its top tier school, then... might be harder. If its lower/newer school then it'll go quick.

Did you call the school to find out where you were on the wait list?

I received an email by the institution on Dec. 3rd notifying me of my alternate rank position as well as the procedure to "accept" my rank position.

Oh okay, thanks! Mine just said you are on the "next to be contacted/wait" list but no rank was provided.
