Wondering this as well.@gyngyn Thank you for helping us out on SDN! The work you do is simply amazing. I'm waiting on a couple schools and have been really anxious to hear something from Georgetown. You wouldn't happen to have any updates on GUSOM? Any info would be highly appreciated!
+2. Georgetown's thread is silent.... I hope we all get in lol. Pleaseeeeeeee accept us Georgetown?Wondering this as well.

Its not you!is it just me or has WL movement been reeeeeally slow this year?
trying to be optimistic here, but with their algorithms being much better, does it mean they have shorter wait lists since they know exactly how many people they get off the list? Or this the algorithm being better mean they are accepting the students that will stick and the wait list doesn't get as many people pulled?

Are you able to see movement for JABSOM (hawaii) ? Or is there not a lot of overlap? This seems to be true.
We probably have more overlap than most, but I haven't seen anything. I post all movement every AM!Are you able to see movement for JABSOM (hawaii) ? Or is there not a lot of overlap?
Ah, okay! Thanks much! Good to know at least it hasn't been moving without meWe probably have more overlap than most, but I haven't seen anything. I post all movement every AM!

It keeps things organized. If you anticipate 5 openings, you offer five and give them two weeks to decide. In two weeks you fill the holes (and any new holes that have occurred).@gyngyn what is the thought process behind taking applicants off the waitlist in batches?
No need for self-harm!
Too much hyperbole haha, I'm just feeling like I'm getting over a tough breakupNo need for self-harm!

Have you seen any wait list movement at Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University (if they overlap) since traffic day?

This seems to be true.
Thanks for the response @gyngyn! Your insights have been so helpful! But it did bum me out.

I've been lurking for a few days now, and thought I'd chime in 🙂. Second time, non-trad applicant. One MD interview, one DO interview, wait listed at the MD school (which was my top choice of all 14 schools I applied to anyway!).
I'm already working on the assumption I won't get in, and am looking into getting a Bio post-bac, then reapplying next year. Thoughts on that??

Same here but be sure to check deadlines for applications for post-bacc! I know one school I'm looking at has applications due by June 1st but they have rolling so they say they may fill their class even before the deadline.I've been lurking for a few days now, and thought I'd chime in 🙂. If you got into the DO school, go. You would seriously be shooting yourself in the foot if you don't.I've been lurking for a few days now, and thought I'd chime in 🙂. Second time, non-trad applicant. Thank you so much for this! To clarify, does "this morning" refer yesterday's activity that has been updated in AMCAS during the night or to movement actually happened this morning?
It reflects new acceptances (from one day to the next) in the AMCAS data base. The candidates were probably notified yesterday (or at least within 48 hours per protocol).Thank you so much for this! Hi @gyngyn! Thank you so much for doing this. You mentioned Pitt last week and how you haven't seen any waitlist movement yet - has that changed at all since then?It reflects changes from one day to the next in the AMCAS data base. Nooooo UTSW :'( and since you're in California I'm guessing it's out of staters getting accepted? This morning there was a lot of movement at Cornell, Einstein, UCLA and UCI. There was continued movement at Rush, Cal, SIU, Columbia, Case, New York Med, UCD, UTSW and USF.
It's hard to pinpoint exactly what @gyngyn means by "movement". Movement could be either way. Could be accepting or declining a spot. Could be IS or OOS.Nooooo UTSW :'( and since you're in California I'm guessing it's out of staters getting accepted?
I see new acceptances offered by the school. Nothing new from Pit today on my side.Hi @gyngyn! Thank you so much for doing this. You mentioned Pitt last week and how you haven't seen any waitlist movement yet - has that changed at all since then?

Bye new york med do you mean NYU or NYMC? Thanks! This morning there was a lot of movement at Cornell, Einstein, UCLA and UCI. There was continued movement at Rush, Cal, SIU, Columbia, Case, New York Med, UCD, UTSW and USF.
I report new acceptances. Depending on which school and the candidate's decision, a cascade may occur. It's hard to pinpoint exactly what @gyngyn means by "movement". Movement could be either way. Could be accepting or declining a spot. Could be IS or OOS.

Not today (that I can see). I post all waitlist acceptances (that I can see) in the AM post.@gyngyn any movement from Mayo? Thanks so much for all you do to help ease everyone anxiety on the waitlist!!!
I report new acceptances. Depending on which school and their decision, a cascade may occur.
Are those confirmed acceptances via AMCAS or do you also include "we made an offer to a student holding at X, so X will have to use the WL soon" acceptances?
Also, on your end, do you see offers made to applicants on your waitlist? I feel like you would need the extra information to be able to see a large (5+) cascade.
I post all waitlist acceptances (that I can see) in the AM post.
I wonder how many more times you are going to have to post this.
^^ I'll bite: what is the "AM post" and where can I find it?
