I'm waitlisted for an interview at Regis. They interview at the end of January, which is approaching quickly so I don't have high hopes for that. If I do get invited though, I will probably buy a last minute ticket as long as it doesn't conflict with my AT Still interview that is also at the end of January.
Is it even worth it? Or can I try to see if I can't request a phone interview?
I've asked myself if going to certain interviews were worth it. All the time, effort, and money. Whether or not it's worth it is something only you can decide, but a couple of the key things I thought about were:
- How much I like the program
- The other interviews I've been offered
For example, I have been offered 6 interviews so far, which was way more than I expected. Since 3 of those schools were back-ups and those interviews were either offered on really inconvenient dates, or it was going to cost a lot to get myself there, I decided to decline those. Instead I've chosen to use my resources going to the interviews for schools I would much rather go to. However, if I had been offered interviews only at my back-up schools, I probably would have made a much greater effort to go.
So I think if you end up getting a last-minute offer to go interview, it will depend on how you feel about the program and your current situation and whether or not the pros outweigh the cons. And hey, maybe they would be open to a phone interview if you requested it.
I hope that helped in some way and wasn't too rambly. Good luck!
