Wait lists?

I've seen a couple of people refer to wait lists... are you informed that you are on one or is it one of those things where you were originally rejected but you called (begged, pleaded, promised your first born) for them to reconsider an interview invite? Any insight on this stuff would be great. I just got bumped from UConn, one of my original top choices....

if they bumped you and you really liked the program it wouldn't hurt to beg/plead i don't think. whaddya got to lose, right? good luck! :luck:
 
for me it was that they (indiana) sent out more invites than they had spaces... i was in the OR all afternoon and didn't call til 4pm eastern time -- no more spaces, on the interview "wait list".

Same here, but I was doing DRE's all day instead of surgery...& I honestly don't know which I'd prefer.

Indiana waitlist here too. Gosh, either there were few openings left or people just called them like crazy. Hope we still get a chance.
