i've been preparing for my dats for the past two months, and i think im pretty alright i take my DAT in sept. i'm almost done with my app. but i still need to write my personal statement. my concern is the lateness of all this, i mean i don't have a kick ass GPA to back all this up but i do have alot of experience and good recommendations, so i was thinking of maybe just applying next year and taking a year off. Since i been reading a whole lot of posts saying earlier is better and your chances of getting in applying late are if you have good stats. some words of wisdom would be great. thanx

Get your act together NOW and apply. If you don't get in, take the year to do things that will boost your application. Even if you don't get in this year, the interview and application process will improve your chances and experience next year. You still have time, but you need to move quickly.
