For AMCAS should I wait to get my grades from the current quarter to send in my transcript or should I just send it in now? I think my GPA will probably go down a little, but not much this quarter. Also, I finishing organic (if that matters). So should I send it now or wait until grades come out (June 10)?

My grades dont come in till the 20th of June or so, and I know that they are not as great as my grades from previous quarters. Since my GPA might drop a little (not too much, just a tenth prob), I am going to send in my applications on June 1st and send my transcripts then too. if you know your grades arent as good as usual I would just send in the grades you have now.

I would wait to send in your transcripts until you get your new grades. You want to give the med schools as much information to evaluate you with as possible. And since you arent afraid of your gpa dropping too much, thats another reason to wait. Im pretty sure they want you to update your application with your new grades anyway, so maybe you could send them in and update your application later. I am going to wait until my grades come in before I ask my school to submit my transcript to AMCAS, personally. It will give me more time to work on my application at least.

Wait. If AMCAS gets a transcript...it's very possible they won't process any future ones at all.

Thanks for the advice. I had pretty much decided I would wait for grades, so I am glad to see people agree with me.

I also think you ahould wait for grades, especially because one of your pre-req grades will be on yuor new trabscript. They might not consider your file complete if tey don't have your orgo grade, so just wait to send it in. It will avoid confusion later, and you don't wanna mess with AMCAS!

I DISAGREE with most. I WOULD NOT wait for grades.

I took a beating the Spring when I was going to submit my AMCAS and I knew if I waited my GPA would drop. I submitted AMCAS without supplying my Spring grades and sent my transcript right before Spring ended.

I did have lots of classes under my belt so they had more than enough to judge me.

Things worked out and no one other than UCSF asked me to update them with my grades.
