I would agree with you that the testlets were very confusing and awkwardly written. I don't know if you realize this but as of sept 1st the NBDE I is drawing from a new batch of test questions, and in my opinion they haven't worked the kinks out of many of them. I felt like the exam that i had studied for and the exam that I ended up taking were completely different. However, I don't know of any source that could prepare you for the test I took this week. I was hoping for a score in the 90's but now i am somewhat doubtful if i will get it.

in response to one of the previous posts...i actually took my exam in september and i spoke to some of my classmates who took it in august, it turned out that we had pretty much identical testlets as well as other random questions (i don't remember all of the questions but i'm pretty sure we had identical exams). so i don't think that taking the exam in september is any different form taking it in august. also, you gotta realize that when you have 400 questions you cannot answer every single one of them correctly!!! so don't stress out about it as much i guess (unless you felt like every 2nd question was difficult, then you are in trouble). some of the testlet questions had very little to do with the case, so there's really no way to prepare for it. i'd suggest do decks and old exams... some of the questions i got were word to word from the decks which means that they appeared on old exams at some point. I also had few questions on ethics as a part of testlets, and i have no idea how to prepare for that, just use common sense i guess (decks weren't really helpful for this part)
Good Luck!!!
