anyone else keeping their fingers crossed for later tonight?? Michigan has been real good about posting e-mails/status changes close to after midnight on the 15th in the past. i know it may take many more days/weeks to get feedback but man! the possibility of hearing later tonight has got me ansy!! Good luck to everyone!!

I would guess midnight Eastern Time, which would be 11pm my time. Woohoo!!!

I know I will have one window open to my e-mail account and one window open on SDN here with you guys, probably around 10:30 or so. See you then!

It's tough, though. I don't want to get my hopes up too high, cuz then it'll suck if I don't get an e-mail. But Michigan is my top choice, so I'm really excited about it. Ahhhhhhhh!!!!
 
sup guys...i'm waiting anxiously also...michigan is my top choice w/o regards to finances, so if i get in, i'll withdraw 14 of my 18 other applications..see yall tonight

Hey I just wanted to wish everyone good luck!!! 🙂 I'm interviewing in Michigan in a little bit, so hopefully I will have the same good news to look forward to in a few weeks.

i think in the past it has been EST. yeah, i second soonerpillow...gonna be refreshing the status page like crazy and pressing that stupid down button on my keyboard while staring at my telnet e-mail tonight!! good luck everyone!
 
Hey guys,

I'm in the same situation here....nervously waiting. But i had one question. Does Umich really start sending stuff out at midnight? If they have done it in past years then i would believe it but it just doesn't make sense that they would have some automated program send emails or update the status page at midnight (or better yet have someone sit at a computer and press a button at midnight to update all the applications)...I would think they would have plenty of time to do those sorts of things tomorrow morning when it would be a lot more easy to do....just thinking

if you do a search on the forums, last year, mich sent out e-mail acceptances around 12:15 AM. i imagine this would have to be some automated thing 🙂 good luck!

i got my acceptance last year just a couple minutes after midnight, via email. not everyone accepted will get this, obviously, so if you don't get the midnight email DON'T PANIC! there is still a great chance you'll get in. 🙂 good luck everyone anxiously awaiting the stroke of 12, though. 🙂

caseyumbs: university of michigan biological station, by any chance?
 
Thanks for the info guys......but i have one more quick question. I never got that email from the dean after i interviewed a few weeks ago 9/26 so i'm thinking that the midnight email is reserved for those that got that email from the dean, since they're sure bets. Does anyone have any evidence to support this or am i just paranoid as usual.....

I didn't get an e-mail after I interviewed, either. What is that all about?
 
To make you all more paranod. I got mine last year at 12:14am on the 15th. Your email will look something like below:

You have been accepted to the University of Michigan School of Medicine for
the class entering 2003. This is just a quick email to let you know that
you have been accepted and to offer our congratulations.

You may verify your acceptance status after 9 AM, Eastern time by checking
the UM website https://soleus.msis.med.umich.edu/appstatus/logon.jsp

The official letter will be sent via regular mail within a few days.

We hope you are as enthused about coming to the University of Michigan as we
are about having as part of our class, welcome aboard.
 
Where is the elephant tranq when you need it. Calm the fuc\. Last year I was accepted a few days after oct15th.

I didnt get an email either. Oh well, we'll see what develops tonight anyway.
 
i personally know of 2 ppl that got into umich around oct. 15th that did not get the email...who knows?
 
It's only been a few weeks since I interviewed. Maybe they figured I could just wait til tonight. 😀

Man, I wanna take part in the pre-10/15 excitement for Michigan too!! But my friggin' interview there isn't until next week, which takes away the anxiety/thrill of knowing at midnight.

Good luck to all that are waiting. They'd be fools to turn down you over-qualified SDN'ers. 😀

Well, it's 11pm here (12am in Michigan), and no e-mail yet. But that one guy from last year said it was about 15 after.

Okay, a fun pass the 5 min question... do you think that they actually are awake over at UM tonight? Or did they just tell a computer to send out certain emails around midnight?

Thanks everyone..i'm sure the e-mail server is backlogged...I am an out of stater, interviewed on 9/12. I got that "nice" e-mail but much much later than some other people (some people got the nice e-mail the next day or so)...didn't get the e-mail till about a month later (a few days ago). i imagine that meant my file was backed up for awhile...so for those who don't hear ASAP, i don't think it's a big issue. BEST OF LUCK EVERYONE!!!!! 🙂
