When you are on a waiting list and you are not admitted do you stand a better chance the following year? Is it safe to assume that you will have priority during the following years admission cycle.

It depends on the school. Usually, if you are not accepted off the waitlist then you are technically a re-applicant to most schools. Therefore you have to do another secondary and you should have had some "improvement" from the previous year.

I know that Touro-NV, if you are waitlisted and not accepted that you are automatically reviewed again for the next school year without doing another secondary ect. They even said that they interview those people before the first official interview date for the normal cycle.

So in short, it depends on the school.

I know there are some people from VCOM who were on the waitlist there and got advanced acceptance for the following year. Also to note VCOM's waitlist is proportionally small

yea i was placed on the Touro-CA high waitlist and they said that if I am not accepted in this year's class that I hae a really good chance of being accepted for next years' class just liek the guy above said about Touro-NV

without appling all over again?

In ref to waitlists...are you typically informed of your position or number on the list? I've been waitlisted...PNWU...but not really told my place on 'the list.'

Is it socially inappropriate to call admissions at a school and ask where you stand? I mean...if you're in like the top 5 at your first choice school...you're probably gonna not need to go to all of your other 10 interview invites...basically saving you time and money.

Thoughts?

it's not inappropriate. You should ask how their waitlist is ranked and where you stand on the waitlist...

Go to your interviews if you don't have an acceptance in hand. It's not worth the risk.
