I have been recently wait listed and not receiving much information from the admissions office I am sitting in the dark. Is this a nice way of saying your denied or as of right now its to early to even think that? How big dose the waiting lists get at different schools. Is there a good chance of getting in after being wait listed? Anyone that has been in or is in this same situation can you please comment.

whats your gpa?
whats your mcat?
do you have a letter of rec from a podiatrist?..

DMU first of all and I didn't give specifics because I wanted to be general to receive a lot of different view points. GPA around 3.3 for both and below a 20 on the MCAT.

well thats the thing it may be your mcat I think dmu has a cut off at 20 but if thats the case that may be why...

Yea, you may want to retake the MCAT. That is probably below the cutoff. I hear OCPM's cutoff is 21 and of course DMU is exponentially better so their standards must be way higher. Retake and score above 20!

Thanks for all of the obvious replies, I have already signed up to take the test again. Anyone with real answers that maybe knows or has gone through the waiting list process please comment? For all other please don't clutter this important thread that I would like answer for.

seriously a real answer is your MCAT is why you are there and there is a good chance that your MCAT is why you may not get in, so don't get crabby when people post "obvious" replies as you say because if they are so obvious you'd know that's why you are in a wait list...think about it, why would they put on you a wait list? MCAT...and is there a chance you'll get in? MAYBE...leave it at that and don't stress too much about it being on the wait list is a heck of a lot better than being rejected!

Think about your interviewing skills too. Maybe there was a bad vibe or something... It's not always just about stats!
