Does anyone know how likely one is to get accepted off of a waiting list to any of the following schools (especially the first two)? I have other acceptances, but don't want to start finalizing plans if there's still hope for UMich or Emory. Thanks for any help!!

Emory
UMich ("upper tier?")
UVa
Dartmouth

There will be hope for the UMich waitlistees this year, although I'm not sure exactly how many will get off the list. Most of the movement will come after April for sure, when people get their financial aid.

Get the US news book (not the magazine...the actual book) it lists # matriculated out of number accepted...thus you can't get some kind of idea about how many people are choosing to go elsewhere from a particular school...it can give you an idea of waitlist movement but as Im sure someone will mention after me that most schools over accept people to begin with so subtracting matriculants from # accepted won't yield the amount of waitlist movement...

Does the online version list this as well?

Yes, silly question, but you never know.
