Waiting on Waitlists, should I go out of the country?

If i go out of the country I will be unreachable by snail mail or phone, but email should be fine. Since acceptances off the waitlists are time-sensitive things, is this doable? I think I would be gone for about 2 weeks

Just elect someone to speak for you. You can also change your personal information on AMCAS to match their phone number if necessary. Changes to AMCAS get filtered to all your colleges so you would not need to contact each one individually.

Do you have someone who can receive your mail for you? A parent or a roommate that you really trust? If so, just ask them to open your mail for you and keep you updated. At worst, if something has to be done through snail mail, you can ask them to scan/email you whatever documents they get sent.

i think because most of the school im waiting on call the applicants. i guess if they don't get through they might send an email i hope

I am on several waiting lists and about to leave the country for ~2 weeks. I called each school to ask about their procedure -- I would recommend doing the same. My wait list schools all said I should simply email them the dates I'd be gone along with the contact information for a proxy.

I was on five waitlists this summer, and went to South America for two months. I came off Georgetown's waitlist right before I left, I bought an international cell phone and Dartmouth called me about a week after I got here on my international number, Colorado e-mailed me a couple of days later, and Baylor called my mom and them e-mailed me last Thursday.

I e-mailed all of my schools, told them my situation, updated my AMCAS and the schools to say they could give my mom myinfo, and kept addresses and phone numbers updated. You should be fine!
