I haven't submitted my app for amcas yet and was wondering since I'm already a week late would waiting another week until June 12th (when us may testers get our prelim scores) really make that much of a difference ? I know it takes about a month to get verified so that would take me to about July 12, but we don't even get our official score until June 30.

Or should I just fork over the 175$ initial fee or whatever the amount is and play it safe ?

Thanks

According to last years verification times on this thread: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/threads/amcas-verification-times-2014-2015.1082294/ (found more accurately in the spreadsheet)
you might actually be okay. People who submitted roughly ten days after the start date as you said you might ended up waiting around 2 weeks (11 business days) to get verified which would make you verified roughly at the end of June which is when applications are released to medical schools anyways.

So according to the data you could wait til the 12th and submit and be okay. It is in general always better to be earlier and you'd be taking a risk, but as long as the verification times somewhat match up to last year (and previous years) you should be alright waiting for your prelim score

But June 2nd was 3 days ago ._.

Thanks for the info. I think your right based on the data I should be ok if I wait another week just to make sure my score is decent enough to apply this cycle.

You'll be fine.
