Hey I wanted to know if a student on here has ever gotten acceptance to a DS after this long of a time frame if they have been put on a wait list the entire time (No interview but secondary with just waitlist). I mean has anyone EVER gotten in after such a long time :/

to my knowledge ...if you havent gotten an interview then its a no. sorry =( what are your stats? maybe improve on them before applying next year

AA: 21
TS: 22

Total GPA: 3.1
Science GPA: 3.0

The only thing was I applied a little too late waiting on recommendations from professors. If I apply next time, it will be my third time applying as well. I have done over 200+ hours of shadowing and my ECs are good. Personal statement has gotten better because of my post-bac career. Any suggestions?

maybe raise your science gpa.
do a postbacc and get your gpa up?

Looks like the high DAT scores did not trump the low gpa, which would not have looked any better had you applied a little earlier.

But, even if I do take a year of post-bac more (I already have done one raising GPA from 2.7 to the 3.1 now), I am still looking at the max of my GPA increasing to: Total: 3.2 Science: 3.2. Not to mention the difficulty in getting in those classes because of the budget cuts including last priority standing amongst UnderGrad students alongside with the high tuition with no Financial aid available.

I am thinking I just need to give up on this

If this is something u truly want, don't give up...take more classes and raise ur gpa and apply early n I mean in June don't wait too long start getting ur recommendations in line already n when the cycle opens just have them sent out right away. Meanwhile work on more ECs ...there's no harm in having more EC ...goodluck this year if u choose to apply

Thank you all though it is too late to take more classes, I definitely will be retaking the DAT this year because my previous one has expired and plus the DAT game has gotten WAYYYYYY harder with help of Chad's videos so I need to step on it. But I will be submitting my app by June 1st already have gotten the new letters of rec in, new personal statement is getting reviewed by people. Hopefully I can get ready in time by the July 1st deadline for taking the DAT and hopefully it will catch up with the application. Thank you guys for all the motivation it is really this thread that got me going and now I am on a full blown train to get in for next year.

Seriously one word of advice even if you think a school is wayy too expensive just apply anyways, you need to have backups to your primary choices and don't turn away potential dental schools just on how much they cost or whatever
