Hey guys,

I applied to 7 physical therapy programs. I was rejected by 4, waitlisted by 2, and still waiting on one more. I feel really drained from this process and am starting to fear that I might have to reapply 🙁 Is there anyone who got into PT school off of waitlist in the past? Do waitlists tend to have movement? Just trying to get an idea if I still have a chance. Trying to not give up hope it's just so discouraging!! Thanks in advance for any advice/ information

I just got off CSULBs waitlist! Are you high-tier?

Yes high tier waitlist. No way! Congrats!! That gives me some hope haha
The deadline for this "wave" (for lack of better word) to respond is February 13 ... at least it was for me! Don't give up!

Thank you! I appreciate the positivity. Will you be attending?

Just to give you a little hope; I applied to four schools (I applied to a small number of schools b/c these were the only places I genuinely wanted to go to) and got rejected by 3 and waitlisted by 1. I was in the middle third of that list, and not being in the top was very discouraging since they only accept 24 students, so my chances of getting in was pretty slim. So by then I had given up all hope and started panicking on finding plan B options after graduation for myself. I was offered a position to that school just a little over a month after I received that alternate letter, which wind up being my first choice when I went to interview! I was anywhere from number 8-16 on that list so in my situation my waitlist moved down pretty quickly, especially with having a class size of just 24 students! So if you are high-tier on the list then I wouldn't lose hope just yet, try to keep positive!

friend who is first year of sac state told me he has classmates who were on top 30 waitlist

Do most DPT programs usually wait to start sending out acceptance offers to people on the waitlist until they reach a certain number of open seats (so that group can all have one fee deposit deadline) or do they just start sending offers one by one down the list whenever there's an open seat?

I have no idea 🙁 It seems like every school really differs in their waitlist process

That's a good question

I waitlisted for chapman too in addition to Mt. St. Mary's and still early to know from Azusa Pacific. What were your stats?

I applied for the 2018 cycle and am waitlisted at new york medical college and university of the incarnate word. I dont think they have a ranking (or they don’t release it at least). Does anyone know of anyone who got off the waitlists for these schools in the past?

I was pulled off waitlist at UIW in June, and I believe they made offers up until early August last year. Not sure if they always have so much trouble finalizing their cohort, but it is a private school, so I suspect there is movement as long as other schools are making offers.

Yea I heard from a faculty before that one year they pulled off 20 people, so I'm praying the odds are in my favor
