I was curious, if a person that was put on the alternate list due to verbal communication, is there a chance for them to get off it? I can see that there are several people on the alternate list that got put on this list as the same as me, and some other varies reasons other than verbal communication skills.

This question just popped in my head after I got pre-pharmacy advising for next cycle on what I needed to work on. The feedback given was that my on-site score was good/satisfactory, tour with tour guides was pretty good (believe they grade you for interaction); however I am guessing its the interview (I didn't get feedback on the interview).

Also, I assumed that poor verbal communication skills would either lead to rejection since its heavily emphasized in pharmacy.

I work at a retail pharmacy and I communicate really well with patient and physicians, so its up in the air for me with this.

Are you sure that it was the verbal communication that was the issue? Unless you have contacted the school and they advised you to work on your communication skills for next cycle, then you should not assume that it was only the verbal communication that put you on the waitlist.

If you don't get into pharmacy school this cycle, it would be a good idea to contact the schools you had interviews for and ask how to improve for the next cycle. There are a lot of factors that are taken into consideration. Maybe there was a more competitive pool of candidates or it might be that the interviewers did not feel like you fit the school or vise versa.

Seriously? You get graded while you are on the tour? How are you supposed to pay attention to what the tour guide is showing you if instead you are trying to think of a point-scoring question?

Good grief.
