Anyone on the waitlist at NECO? If so, has anyone heard anything as yet? I am not sure if the list is even moving so let me know if anyone has any info.
Thanks !!
Brown Eye Girl 🙂

Brown Eye, you had an excellent OAT score (350 I think). How could you be on the waitlist anywhere with such a good score??? If you don't mind me asking, what does the rest of your application look like.

GPA
Shadowing
Leadership
Service

Also, did you have an interview at NECO? If so, how did it go? I'm just shocked that you would not be accepted to everywhere you applied with such a good OAT score!

I'm on the waitlist at NECO too! Haven't heard back yet 🙁 Last time I called a few weeks ago to check what number I am, they told me they don't rank them. Is that true??? Do you know where u stand? she also told me there's about 20 students on it.

Hey guys,

I just gave up my spot at NECO a few days ago, so the waitlist should be moving at least a little! Hope that helps and good luck! 🙂

hey amoura04 or anyone else on the NECO waitlist any updates?

For those of you who did not get into optometry school, consider yourselves lucky.

Optometry is a waste of time. The school is too expensive for what you're going to do when you're done.

Be thankful you're wait listed and move on to something else.

Read http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/optometrysucks/ for what optometry is really about.

I am sorry you feel this way. The profession or rather people in the profession must have discouraged you in some way. I hope that one day in the future you will come to find something that is for you. I have read many of your posts and have many personal experiences and stories that are the exact opposite of your experiences. In the end if school was so expensive that we are not able to pay it off in time then there would not be any Optometrists out there by now. Good luck in your future endevours.

He does have some valid points. He must be a practising optometrist otheriwise what is his beef with the profession? Though I think that lenscrafter optometrists make more but the ones I know have been there for years being salaried.

Thanks for the "insight".
