Actually, I don't think anyone has been accepted off the waitlist yet. I started at a sub-15 position, and after the first update letter (dated May 2), I am still sitting at the same position. Anyone who has moved up did so because people ahead of them have dropped off the wait-list.

Well, I heard people dropped their acceptance so I assume they took people from the waitlist.

It seems that this year's movement is a bit slow. Last year I heard that the waitlist jumped 20 spots in the first update. But I also heard that was a atypical year. Good luck to those who are still waiting.

I moved up 2 spots according to the July update letter... this is a slow year for the waitlist (at least compared to last year, where each update letter seemed to move about 10 spots)...

Umm... I dunno. I moved up three spots. But it turns out that most likely, I will not be going this Fall! I got into an argument with my parents and won! I have made other plans for this year and so I will probably re-apply next year. It looks like I finally get to study abroad! like I wanted before going to pharm school.

Still, I'm on the waitlist to see what happens. Because you never know how things turn out. But good luck to everyone!

I'm sure deadline for waitlisters to be accepted varies from school to school. Officially, the UCSF waitlist is valid through the first day of classes (in case someone doesn't show up). But I've heard they've sent out acceptances during the first week of classes.
