I know that the waitlist at columbia remains unranked, but has anyone had experience with this. Does anyone know about how many people are on it? Or the approximate number that matriculate each year? Obviously it is going to be diff. I was just wondering if you are on the waitlist is it a decent shot of getting in.

No one really knows how many people are on CUCDMs waitlist. Someone asked at my Penn interview last year and Ms. Cackas said they had in the neighborhood of 20 people, and that the year before they let in I believe 6 or so off the list. I have no means of comparison but am guessing that its in a similar neighborhood here because I have no reason to assume otherwise. I interviewed at Columbia sometime in March last year, was waitlisted, and heard from them first week in May-ish... Two other current students from that same interview group are also attending and another student was accepted the same day I was but not interviewed with me, so its safe to say it is a somewhat active list. This however mainly depends on the year and ultimately the accepted students' individual decisions rather than the school itself obviously. Browse through my past posts if you're interested, I commented somewhere about my waitlist approach.
