From what I've heard and what I've read online, it seems like not all waitlists are created equal. While some schools tend to take a handful of applicants off the waitlist, there are a few schools that accept up to 50% of the people in the waitlist. Do you guys know which schools are waitlist-friendly?

For example, I read that UCSF usually accepts close to half of its waitlisters.

pretty much all schools except those in the top 5-10 will take significant # off the waitlist.

particularly state schools, low tier schools, and schools in non-desirable cities.

NYMC, read somewhere that they usually go through their entire WL once or twice to fill their class. (please correct me if I'm wrong)

I wouldn't put too much stock into previous years for waitlist tendencies. My school (state school) usually accepted 50-70 off the waitlist. Last cycle? ~6.
