I have been waitlisted at 2 of my top 3 choices, including the state school that is 1 mile away from home. I need to start planning a move if I don't get in there (which will include selling my house... eeeek).

When do waitlists start to move? And how long do they keep moving? I tried to dig up old data on this topic, but haven't found much. Id appreciate any info 🙂

That is an extraordinarily tough position to be in...

Maybe extenuating circumstances to include in a LOI?

Have you checked the school specific threads from last year? That might give you an idea.

Yes, and everything was late April or later, but very few posts about it honestly.

So... the state school does not accept updates. I'm not sure what to do! I want to send them a LOI, but I also don't want to violate their "no updates" request. :-/

Don't do it.

So don’t do it. There is no other option. But that’s what happens with Waitlists. I knew a person accepted on Friday and Orientation started on Monday. He had no other choice so he went and was glad to do it.

If your only acceptance happens very late maybe you could prearrange with a property manager to rent your home after you enroll.

Good luck!

Think about it....
If you send them an update when they have a no update policy, all you're doing is telling them that you don't pay attention or respect details/rules. REJECT
