Does anybody know any news about Wash U, Duke, NU, UChicago, or GW waitlists for Class of '08? If you have heard any word about new acceptances going out, classes being overbooked, etc. please post. Thanks!

i think nu and gw have started to move...check out the official waitlist assistance post in pre-allopathic. i think it's a sticky...

You should check out the "Wash U waitlist" thread....it seems that just a few people have heard back, but I sure as f*** haven't. and thus the waiting continues :scared:

I got off the Duke waitlist last Thursday 🙂

Since you are going to Duke...what school(s) did you drop?

That's really awesome! Congrats! Duke's actually my top choice too (and I'm still on waitlist there). Did you send a letter of update or anything to them? I've written a couple of letters and indicated on that waitlist card that they are my top choice, but I'm not sure how much good that actually does. Congrats once again.

Thanks, it definitely was my top choice. I indicated it on the waitlist card and wrote two letters of update, one in march and one very recently. I don't know if that helped me or not. Oh, before I got into Duke, I had decided to accept what was basically a full tuition scholarship to my state school, Robert Wood Johnson in NJ. I have not dropped it yet because I am still waiting to actually get my official letter from Duke, as of right now, I have only gottten a phone call.

I also have heard diddly squat from WashU (waitlist hell!!) And I have sent 3 letters and made 2 calls since being put on the list. Blah! I wonder how many students they pull in late late summer....july and august......if they pull me I will be grateful and happy, but also a bit pissed off at not having enuff time to set up living arrangements, etc...... still I will come crawling as soon as they say the word

Good choice! 😉 I'm a 2nd year at Duke, and having been through most of my clinical rotations now and talking to lots of folks about residency programs, I've come to realize how much more important the name of your medical school is than I had originally thought. The name definitely matters, no matter what you hear, so going to a place like Duke can only help open doors for you. Plus the curriculum is awesome! Who wants to spend 2 years in class when you can do just one?! 😀
