What is the greatest number of waitlists that you've heard of without getting an acceptance?

Currently on 5-6 waitlists and am really worried that none of them are going to turn into an acceptance. I'm adding my vote of 3 because that's the number of waitlists I was on last year.

This can be either about yourself or someone you know

Edit: To clarify, I mean to ask about waitlist people having no acceptances by the end of the cycle

Waitlists will continue well into June and July. Every year there are a few who get waitlisted in to school only a day or two before classes start.
As the old saying goes, nothing is completed until the corpulent countess croons or something like that
That's true but this is the third cycle I'm on where I'm waitlisted although I have a few more this time
I need to prepare realistically because I've waited it out hopefully in the past only to have my hopes crushed

Wow. 6 waitlists this year plus the 3 from last year make for some really bad luck. Are all of your interviews turning into waitlists or is it a mix of rejections and waitlists?

6 interviews as a re-applicant means you certainly have the stats. Even a poor interviewer is going to get an acceptance after 6+ interviews. Must be a giant red flag somewhere during your interview. Either that or you have the worst luck and should never set foot in a casino.

If this is the third cycle that you have gotten interviews but have only made it to WL in multiple schools, would suggest interview issues or possible a negative LOR
I know my interview skills aren't the best but I worked hard to improve them this year
I also considered a negative LOR but would it be reasonable for schools to interview me in the first place if that's the case?

Yeah my luck doesn't seem to be the best but I suppose there's fault in myself too
I had 2 rejections last year and 1 this year
The first time, there was only 1 interview and it was a waitlist

My heart goes out to you in your third cycle. I remember seeing your posts in the 2015-2016 cycle threads. While this is my first cycle, I am also very worried that none of my waitlists will turn into acceptances. To say the least, it's devastating to face failure over and over again. I think your efforts speak to your strong desire to become a physician and your exceptional resilience, and I wish you the best in your journey to medicine.

Thanks 🙂
Best of luck to you too
This has been a long journey
