Hello SDN fam,

Now that I've heard back from most places, I'm in a situation where I have a DO acceptance (for which I'm both happy and grateful) and 4 MD waitlists. How likely do we think it is that I (or anyone else in a similar situation) might get pulled off of one of the waitlists?

I recognize that this is hard to do without naming schools, so forgive me if it's a stupid question.

It's not a stupid question, just one that's impossible to answer. Some schools reject the lowest-performing interviewees, others waitlist everyone that doesn't get an outright acceptance. Some schools have ranked waitlists, others don't. Some schools accept a lot of people up front and have very little waitlist movement, others only accept a small number initially and work from their waitlist a lot. And even if we knew which schools you're waitlisted at and could tell you where they stand on each of those things, we still have no way of knowing where you are on their lists. So unfortunately, anything people told you on here would be pure speculation.

My advice to you is to unburden your mind, have a wonderful weekend, and prepare for medical school. You're going to be a doctor! Congratulations!
