I know it varies from year to year and school to school, but has anyone heard an estimate as to how many wait-list students end up being accepted each year at any given school? Thanks.
...but it's unlikely that anybody here can cite school-specific statistics. waitlist policies are very guarded by adcoms (for good reason). so unless there is a mole lurking about, you won't find much to go on.
in general, if you are in the top part of a waitlist, you have a somewhat decent chance of getting tapped (depending on how "coveted" the school is). if you are in the middle or bottom, you won't get in... especially nowadays.
my vague rank insight probably helps very little because adcoms also guard the rankings (again, for good reason).
so... you just gotta hang in there and prepare for next cycle just in case
