Just posting this under a new Thread--I'm also interested in what people thing about going to interviews after being waitlisted--any residents out there have some insight?

Here's the original post:
Did any of the residents out there match at a program they were waitlisted for an interview? Or match at a program they were invited to interview at much later than other applicants? I have a feeling I'm waitlisted at several programs, since I've not been invited or rejected yet, they just didn't email me to tell me I'm on the waitlist. Just curious if its worth going or not.

i have the same issue. i heard that some programs dont even bother to respond to us.

I'd say it's probably worth going. Programs really do get far more great applicants than they can possibly interview, so your waitlist status probably has more to do with timing and response rates rather than a lack of enthusiasm for your qualifications. If you go, I doubt the people who interview you will know you were on the wait list at all.
