Does anyone know how common it is for a school to accept applicants off the wait list a week or two before classes begin? I have been on a few wait lists for awhile now and am in the top 3 for one of them. Two of the programs begin in May so I'm starting to get pretty nervous. This is my second cycle and I really don't want to go through this process again!

If you don't mind me asking which schools you're on the waitlist for?

Ahhhh I'm on the same boat as you! I was told the week before classes or even the day before! That scares me! Lol. If you're in the top 3 I would say your chances are pretty good!! Good luck!! you can try calling the school to follow up on your status 🙂

Thank you for the encouragement! It's basically torture. I am wait listed at Rosalind Franklin, Northern Illinois, Northwestern, Governors State, and Elon. Governors State and Rosalind start in May. I have also been keeping in contact with the schools on a monthly basis so hopefully that helps! Where are you wait listed?

When you kept in contact with the schools, how did you contact them, and what did you ask? I sent an email to Franklin Pierce a month ago, and I'm still wait listed. I don't know if I should contact them and bug them or just wait =/. And also congrats!

If they rank their wait list then I would simply ask if they are able to update me with my position on the list. If it wasn't ranked then I would just notify them of my continued interest and ask where they were in the process of filling their current class and how much more wait list movement they expect to see. Keep it short and sweet. I think this really helps because it keeps your name fresh in their head. You are not bothering them, you are showing that you really want it and they know that you are a for sure "yes".

So a crazy rush for you to get ready for class?! Congrats!! I was a late off the wait list person last year and it was nuts.

Thank you! I'm pretty much in a scramble right now haha but It is what it is and I'm excited to get started!
