Waitlist...

What are the chances of getting in after a waitlist...does that mean that I'm rejected or is there really a chance left?

Lots of people are admitted off of waitlists every year. At some schools, like OHSU, at least half of the class that matriculates comes from the waitlist.

So it you are on a waitlist, stay hopeful. You definitely have a chance. Most of the waitlist movement occurs in May when final choices have to be made by those holding acceptances.

Waitlist movement is school dependant. Not much waitlist movement at Harvard, but substantial waitlist movement at many other schools.

Also depends on the school. Some schools have tons of movement and others barely move at all

I second this. It's definitely dependent on the school. And it depends on what type of application season they've had at the school.

does anyone know what the movement is like for UTHSC San Antonio's waitlist? or any of the other Texas schools?

That's where I was last year... There's a chance, but odds vary greatly depending on school. I was telling all my friends that got in at my school to go elsewhere so I could get in off the waitlist, haha. It's a good sign though, it means the school would like to have you, but they just don't have spots available. Some schools will waitlist another 50-60 students beyond their capacity just in case, but my school wouldn't tell me my position on the list. (Didn't work out for me, but I made it in this year)
