I took the MCAT last August, scored a 28. My GPA is 3.65, Science GPA is 3.55. I applied to 18 schools, only received one interview at Drexel. I had that interview in late March, and it took them nearly 12 weeks to get a decision back to me. I've been placed on the waitlist, and I'm told that I can hear as late as August 2nd that I've been accepted. I've already written a letter indicating my interest in the program and my activities since my interview. Am I crazy to even think I have a chance of getting accepted? Or should I just focus on retaking the MCAT and reapplying? Any advice will help. Thanks

At this stage in the game, kick some ass on the August MCAT and reapply. If you can get a 33+ on it, you're going to end up getting into quite a few schools that are better than Drexel even (although I know it ranks near the top 10 according to SDN rankings.) Good luck.

I know someone who found out he got into Drexel last year by calling them up a week before school started. The important thing with Drexel is to keep calling them and asking...they seem to always be behind and, um, a little disorganized. So, if you call and they are looking to fill the position, then they'll offer it to you right then. That's what happened with my friend...he called and said that he was wondering if there had been any movement on the waitlist and they offered him the slot.

Good luck...don't give up hope just yet. There is a lot of movement on Drexel's waitlist.

I just emailed my withdrawal from Drexel today, so there is at least 1 spot that will be opening up.

What schools did you apply to? list them and tell us a little bit more about your EC's. I also got a 28 in the MCAT got three interviews but at this point I have only one waitlist (Tufts). I pray every night...
