Has anyone had experience having been waitlisted at a WREB site? They say I have the option of staying on waitlist but what are the chances that I will get a spot? I'm number 7 on the list. Should I transfer to a different site with the complications of paying for transportation and accommodations for my patients??? Thanks in advance.

also - if they do let you know there is a spot, how soon do they notify you and how do you manage to keep your patients in standby for this?

Hi,
I had the same issue.I would recommend you to transfer to another location and still be on the waiting list. Please read the cancellation policy, you'll have a better idea.
They keep reviewing the waiting list every wk and will notify us in case of any changes.I know its a big hassle...but hey!i guess we have no choice at this point, either /or we gotta take the exam...
good luck!

You know for the amount of money that we pay WREB could have a little bit more of organization
Got my package on thrusday morning call PEARSON VUE to schedule CSW and PATP, I am not in the system according to them, called again on friday again not in the system, called again today once again not in the system.

It is really ridiculous of recieving this package and not being able to schedule the exam!

2000 is not change money a little bit more of organization wouldnt hurt anyone:meanie:

I was going to take it at Temple but I also registered to take it at NYU

I totally agree with you. Preaching to the choir!

i definitely agree with this too! imagine for that amount, you only get 1 success card when you pass. and then when you apply for a license you need to order duplicate success cards at 25USD apiece! you would think at the price we paid they could at least throw that in for free. i wonder where all the money goes, since even all the instruments and materials we had to provide ourselves. just a thought.

A spot just opened up at temple! The only thing is that they won't give me a full refund since it's passed the deadline date at NYU so I only get 50% refund which still means I'm out $900. It's such bull**** because when I was applying to dental school, NYU gave me an offer early and made me give them a deposit before other schools could accept me and eventually stole another 2k from me. I freaking hate that school!

Hi I am taking the exam in 2 weeks at UCLA I have the modupro typodont (PINK TYPODONT) but I was told that all the ucla students have the columbia endo typodont (ALL WHITE TYPODONT), do you think I should go buy the columbia typodont for the ucla exam so I can be like every student or if I take with the acadental will they say "she is international" and grade me low than average? We all want to think that they grade us by our access, and obturation not by the color of the typodont, but what if they actually discriminate who has a different typodont than the others??? please let me know I am hesitant in spending almost 500.00 for a new endotypodont.
What would you do?

Probably goes to the doctors that take time out of their patient schedules to be examiners. My uncle is an examiner, and he leaves his busy practice for 4 days/week for 2 weeks every month to be an examiner. It's a thankless job. Most candidates will hate you simply because you are an examiner, but that is the current system we have in dentistry and somebody has to examine the patients.

State licensure stipulations determine whether or not you have to order a scorecard. Arizona is a WREB state and only requires a photocopy of the card.

What is this wreb ?can somebody tell me .has it to do anything with applying to the colleges .
Please somebody tell

Yeah that makes sense, i guess; I realized this year they have 30 dental exams scheduled! I'm not sure, but that seems even more than last year's.

I don't agree with it being a thankless job, though. As far as I've observed, the examiners were treated with a lot of respect (reverence, even! hahaha) during the course of the exam. They do have to deal with all the candidates trailing them all the time with a million requests and questions. I don't hate them, I thought the examiners were pretty cool, and most were kind and patient.

I know requirements vary per state, I was just a bit miffed that after spending $2000 on the exam fee plus around $4000 on materials, gas, hotel, assistant, etc, I only get 1 success card! I'm from CA and they need either a duplicate or the original (which ofcourse I would like to keep for my records). No photocopies allowed for us.

3 1/2 weeks left before i take mine at Louisville. i am in a state of panic already. have read the student guide 3 times and still feel like i need to read it 3 more times.

i am just scared of the what if i fail. most sites are now in waitlist status and it would be incredibly hard to retake it once i a graduate in May since i wont have access to school patients etc.
