I got a letter from pennstate couple of days ago, saying my file has been placed under "continue to review" category?

Has anyone else in this forum been placed under the same category before?

I just wanna know how bad this is... (sigh.)

I got a rejection letter from wake, Vandy, northwestern so far. Haven't heard from any other school. One invitation for interview will make me happy at this point. 🙁

I'm in the same category at UC Irvine, Penn State, and UMich. Don't worry about it. They just want to see who else is in the applicant pool.

I got it a while back sept/Octish and I haven't heard anything since. Like sunkyu said they want to see who else is applying before they give you an interview. At least it's not a rejection, right. There are varying opinions at to whether a rejection is on the way once you get this letter. Do a search you should be able to find the other thread that decussed this a few month back. i got the same message a while back also... but thereafter, i've received a lot of rejections from a number of other schools... based on the rejection thread, it looks like penn state hasn't rejected anyone yet... but i could be wrong... but hmm... as you mentioned already, it's better than a flat out rejection. in fact, it's the best news i've heard yet... hope i'm not being misled though.

i got the same letter...someone in a previous post said its almost as good (bad) as a rejection...anyone get an interview off this category?

based on the rejection thread, it looks like penn state hasn't rejected anyone yet... but i could be wrong...

Actually, Penn State has rejected someone - me. Got the letter this weekend.

Oh well, didn't want to live in Hershey anyway 🙄

No, I was not put into the "continue to review" category. But I took the August MCAT and was applying from out of state. Although my u-grad GPA sucks, I have a nice trend with my post-bac and graduate work. Finally scored a 30 on the MCAT too. I have had one interview so far (state school - waitlist), but am trying to stay hopeful at the other schools I have applied to.

I got the same letter a while back and havent heard anything since. Im not a PA resident so I dont know what I was thinking. That and the fact the school is in Amish country.
